- Treat every attendee, volunteer, team member, speaker, and partner with courtesy and respect.
- Foster a space where members of all identities and backgrounds feel valued.
- Use the names and pronouns people share with you.
- Honor the diverse identities within our community and membership.
- Discrimination or harassment based on actual or perceived race, ethnicity, sex, sex characteristics, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, disability, neurodiversity, physical appearance, body size, HIV status, family status, veteran status, nationality, citizenship, age, religion, or any other protected characteristic.
- Sexual harassment, including unwelcome sexual advances, inappropriate physical contact, or sexually explicit comments or images.
- Microaggressions or derogatory language related to a person’s identity or expression.
- Racist, sexist, homophobic, biphobic, transphobic, ageist, or ableist language or conduct.

If a participant violates this Safe Space Commitment, the Chamber may take action including, but not limited to:
- A verbal or written warning
- Removal from the event without refund
- Restriction from future Chamber events or activities
Major and signature events require one week's notice for a refund.
If an attendee is unable to attend an event, they may transfer the registration to another person at no additional cost. Please contact the Chamber Office via our online form or call 832-510-3002 at least 24 hours before the event so we can update the registration list.
2. Membership Applications & Payment
Membership dues are non-refundable.
3. Membership Renewal
- Annual Memberships: Renewal invoices are sent via email as a PDF. Members are responsible for ensuring the Chamber has current contact information and that payment is submitted prior to the due date. A paper invoice will be sent if the first electronic invoice becomes past due.
- Monthly Memberships: Monthly dues are automatically charged to the credit card on file. If a member cancels after dues have been charged, the account will be prorated through the date written notice is received.

- Authority: You confirm that you are the owner, manager, or authorized representative of the business or organization with legal authority to enter into agreements on its behalf.
- Standards of Conduct: You agree to abide by the Chamber’s Standards of Business Conduct & Ethics.

- Communications & Directory Listing: You authorize the Chamber to publish your business name, representative name, photos, logo, and related information in Chamber publications, including the online directory, print materials, email newsletters, and promotional content. Members must notify the Chamber to opt out of the Directory public listing.
- SMS/Texting Consent: You agree to receive text communications from the Chamber. You may opt out at any time by replying STOP.
- Membership dues are non-refundable, except where required by law or otherwise stated in Chamber policy.

The publication of advertisements on any Greater Houston LGBTQ+ Chamber of Commerce-owned site does not constitute an endorsement or guarantee by the Chamber, its members, associates or staff of the quality or value of the advertised services or products or of the claims made for such services or products.
Reference herein to any specific commercial products, process, or service by trade name, trademark, manufacturer, or otherwise, does not necessarily constitute or imply its endorsement, recommendation, or favoring by the Greater Houston LGBTQ+ Chamber of Commerce, its members, associates or staff. - Operate in compliance with all federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and professional codes relevant to their business.
- Be accountable to customers/clients and act in their best interest whenever reasonably possible.
3. Non-Discrimination & Inclusion
- Not discriminating on the basis of actual or perceived race, color, religion, national origin, age, disability, sex, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, veteran status, marital status, family status, or any other protected category.
- Creating and maintaining a welcoming and inclusive environment for LGBTQ+ people and all members of the community.
4. Professional Conduct & Respect for Others
- Treat fellow members, Chamber staff, volunteers, sponsors, and community partners with respect.
- Refrain from harassment, bullying, abusive conduct, or derogatory remarks—including on the basis of a person’s identity or expression.
- Not publicly disparage other members or their businesses, and refrain from misrepresentation or inappropriate competitive behavior.
5. Responsible Competition & Fair Business Practices
- Conduct business in a manner that reflects fair and ethical competition.
- Not seek unfair advantage over fellow members or engage in practices prohibited by law.
- Avoid false, misleading, or disparaging claims about competitors.
6. Community Support & Chamber Engagement
- Support the mission, values, and goals of the Chamber in a constructive and positive manner.
- Whenever reasonably possible, participate in Chamber programs and activities to help strengthen the LGBTQ+ economic ecosystem.
- Promote economic growth, visibility, and opportunity for LGBTQ+ and Allied businesses in the Greater Houston region.
7. Cooperation with Chamber Standards
- Abide by the Mission Statement and official policies of the Chamber.
- Support and promote the principles of this Standards of Business Conduct & Ethics.
- Cooperate with the Chamber if any concerns or violations are raised.

The Chamber does not investigate, mediate, or adjudicate disputes between members and their clients, customers, vendors, employees, or other members. Any such disputes must be addressed directly between the involved parties or through appropriate outside agencies (e.g., Better Business Bureau, regulatory bodies, or legal channels).
