The Greater Houston LGBTQ+ Chamber of Commerce is committed to providing an inclusive, respectful, and secure online experience for our members, partners, and visitors. These Terms of Use explain how you may use our website, how we protect our content and intellectual property, how we handle submissions, and what you can expect in terms of privacy, security, and acceptable use.

Creating Inclusive & Welcoming Experiences for All
The Greater Houston LGBTQ+ Chamber of Commerce is committed to creating event spaces that embody Radical Hospitality—spaces where every person feels welcomed, respected, and safe to engage fully.
Harassment, discrimination, or disrespectful behavior of any kind will not be tolerated at Chamber events, whether in person or virtual. We ask that all participants help us uphold this standard by doing the following:
✔️ Help create a respectful and welcoming environment for all
- Treat every attendee, volunteer, team member, speaker, and partner with courtesy and respect.
- Foster a space where members of all identities and backgrounds feel valued.
✔️ Respect names, pronouns, and identities
- Use the names and pronouns people share with you.
- Honor the diverse identities within our community and membership.
✔️ Refrain from discriminatory, harassing, or inappropriate behavior
This includes, but is not limited to:
- Discrimination or harassment based on actual or perceived race, ethnicity, sex, sex characteristics, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, disability, neurodiversity, physical appearance, body size, HIV status, family status, veteran status, nationality, citizenship, age, religion, or any other protected characteristic.
- Sexual harassment, including unwelcome sexual advances, inappropriate physical contact, or sexually explicit comments or images.
- Microaggressions or derogatory language related to a person’s identity or expression.
- Racist, sexist, homophobic, biphobic, transphobic, ageist, or ableist language or conduct.

If you experience or witness discrimination, harassment, or behavior that makes you feel unsafe or uncomfortable, please notify a Chamber staff member immediately.

✔️ Enforcement
The Chamber reserves the right to refuse admittance to, or remove any person from, a Chamber event at any time at its sole discretion.
If a participant violates this Safe Space Commitment, the Chamber may take action including, but not limited to:
- A verbal or written warning
- Removal from the event without refund
- Restriction from future Chamber events or activities
✔️ Our Commitment
By attending Chamber events, you are helping us foster a space where LGBTQ+ and Allied individuals can convene, connect, and thrive—reflecting the values of Radical Hospitality, inclusion, and mutual respect.
Refunds for general Chamber events are available up to 72 hours before the event, unless otherwise noted. Requests received after that time are not eligible for a refund due to event guarantees and planning requirements.
Major and signature events require one week's notice for a refund.
If the Chamber cancels an event, registrants will generally receive a full refund.
If an event is postponed, all registrations will automatically transfer to the new date. If you are unable to attend the rescheduled date, you may request a full refund or transfer your registration to another event.
Refunds are not provided for individuals who register but do not attend an event.
If an attendee is unable to attend an event, they may transfer the registration to another person at no additional cost. Please contact the Chamber Office via our online form or call 832-510-3002 at least 24 hours before the event so we can update the registration list.
Sponsorship payments are non-refundable, as benefits begin immediately upon commitment and include year-round visibility and recognition.
1. Membership Term
Membership in the Greater Houston LGBTQ+ Chamber of Commerce (“the Chamber”) is based on a rolling 12-month cycle beginning on the member’s original join date.
2. Membership Applications & Payment
Membership applications are subject to approval by the Chamber.
Payments may be made by credit card, check, or cash. Monthly memberships require a recurring credit card transaction.
A $25 fee will be assessed for insufficient funds, returned checks, or declined credit card transactions. Fees are subject to change.
Membership dues are non-refundable.
3. Membership Renewal
Membership automatically renews on the anniversary of the join date unless the Chamber receives written notice of cancellation prior to renewal.
- Annual Memberships: Renewal invoices are sent via email as a PDF. Members are responsible for ensuring the Chamber has current contact information and that payment is submitted prior to the due date. A paper invoice will be sent if the first electronic invoice becomes past due.
- Monthly Memberships: Monthly dues are automatically charged to the credit card on file. If a member cancels after dues have been charged, the account will be prorated through the date written notice is received.
4. Renewal Amount & Membership Changes
Membership dues may increase at renewal for both annual and monthly members. Any updated dues rate will be reflected in the renewal notice.
Members may change their membership level at renewal by paying the corresponding dues for the selected tier.
Members must inform the Chamber if their employee count changes and may be moved to the appropriate membership tier based on updated information.
Membership dues are non-refundable.
5. Membership Lapse
Membership is considered lapsed if renewal dues are not paid by the due date. Lapsed members immediately lose access to all membership benefits until payment is received.
The Chamber may terminate membership for nonpayment.
6. Membership Benefits
Membership benefits are available only to members in good standing. Members with past-due accounts are not eligible for benefits until their balance is paid in full.
7. Monthly Membership Requirements
Members with monthly memberships must maintain an active credit card on file. Failure to do so may result in membership cancellation.
A $25 fee will be assessed for each declined or failed credit card transaction, plus any applicable late fees.
8. Member Agreements & Acknowledgments
By joining the Chamber, members affirm and agree to the following:
- Authority: You confirm that you are the owner, manager, or authorized representative of the business or organization with legal authority to enter into agreements on its behalf.
- Standards of Conduct: You agree to abide by the Chamber’s Standards of Business Conduct & Ethics.

- Communications & Directory Listing: You authorize the Chamber to publish your business name, representative name, photos, logo, and related information in Chamber publications, including the online directory, print materials, email newsletters, and promotional content. Members must notify the Chamber to opt out of the Directory public listing.
- SMS/Texting Consent: You agree to receive text communications from the Chamber. You may opt out at any time by replying STOP.
- Membership dues are non-refundable, except where required by law or otherwise stated in Chamber policy.
9. Membership Termination
The Chamber may terminate membership for:
- violation of the Chamber’s Standards of Business Conduct & Ethics
- nonpayment of dues
- conduct inconsistent with the Chamber’s mission, values, or Radical Hospitality principles
- misuse of Chamber branding, events, resources, or member database
10. Data & Privacy Notice
The Chamber collects and stores membership data for operational, communication, and programmatic purposes. Your information will be handled according to the Chamber’s Privacy Policy.
By attending Chamber meetings, programs, or events, participants acknowledge that such activities are voluntary and may involve exposure to contagious illnesses. By choosing to attend, participants assume all risks related to such exposure.
The Chamber encourages all participants to follow personal health practices that support a safe and welcoming environment for all. Individuals who feel unwell or exhibit symptoms of illness are encouraged to refrain from attending in-person events.
The Chamber reserves the right to modify health and safety protocols at any time to support the well-being of event participants, staff, and volunteers.
The publication of advertisements on any Greater Houston LGBTQ+ Chamber of Commerce-owned site does not constitute an endorsement or guarantee by the Chamber, its members, associates or staff of the quality or value of the advertised services or products or of the claims made for such services or products.
Reference herein to any specific commercial products, process, or service by trade name, trademark, manufacturer, or otherwise, does not necessarily constitute or imply its endorsement, recommendation, or favoring by the Greater Houston LGBTQ+ Chamber of Commerce, its members, associates or staff. Members of the Greater Houston LGBTQ+ Chamber of Commerce (“the Chamber”) are part of a community committed to advancing LGBTQ+ economic opportunity, visibility, and equity. Membership is a privilege, and with it comes the responsibility to uphold these Standards of Business Conduct & Ethics.
All members agree to conduct themselves and their businesses in a manner that reflects positively on the Chamber and supports a respectful, inclusive, and ethical business environment.
The following standards apply to all members:
1. Integrity & Fair Dealing
Members agree to:
- Conduct business with honesty, integrity, professionalism, and fairness toward customers, clients, employees, contractors, and fellow members.
- Avoid deceptive, fraudulent, or unethical business practices.
- Ensure advertising, marketing, and promotional materials are truthful, non-deceptive, and not misleading either by direct statement, inference, or omission.
2. Quality & Ethical Business Practices
Members commit to:
- Observe the highest ethical standards when providing products or services, consistent with industry norms and applicable laws.
- Operate in compliance with all federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and professional codes relevant to their business.
- Be accountable to customers/clients and act in their best interest whenever reasonably possible.
3. Non-Discrimination & Inclusion
Members agree to uphold the Chamber’s values of equity, inclusion, and Radical Hospitality by:
- Not discriminating on the basis of actual or perceived race, color, religion, national origin, age, disability, sex, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, veteran status, marital status, family status, or any other protected category.
- Creating and maintaining a welcoming and inclusive environment for LGBTQ+ people and all members of the community.
4. Professional Conduct & Respect for Others
Members agree to:
- Treat fellow members, Chamber staff, volunteers, sponsors, and community partners with respect.
- Refrain from harassment, bullying, abusive conduct, or derogatory remarks—including on the basis of a person’s identity or expression.
- Not publicly disparage other members or their businesses, and refrain from misrepresentation or inappropriate competitive behavior.
5. Responsible Competition & Fair Business Practices
Members agree to:
- Conduct business in a manner that reflects fair and ethical competition.
- Not seek unfair advantage over fellow members or engage in practices prohibited by law.
- Avoid false, misleading, or disparaging claims about competitors.
6. Community Support & Chamber Engagement
Members commit to:
- Support the mission, values, and goals of the Chamber in a constructive and positive manner.
- Whenever reasonably possible, participate in Chamber programs and activities to help strengthen the LGBTQ+ economic ecosystem.
- Promote economic growth, visibility, and opportunity for LGBTQ+ and Allied businesses in the Greater Houston region.
7. Cooperation with Chamber Standards
Members agree to:
- Abide by the Mission Statement and official policies of the Chamber.
- Support and promote the principles of this Standards of Business Conduct & Ethics.
- Cooperate with the Chamber if any concerns or violations are raised.
8. Consequences for Violations
Failure to adhere to these Standards may result in disciplinary action, including suspension or termination of membership. The Chamber reserves the right to determine appropriate action at its sole discretion.
9. Business Dispute Policy
The Chamber does not investigate, mediate, or adjudicate disputes between members and their clients, customers, vendors, employees, or other members. Any such disputes must be addressed directly between the involved parties or through appropriate outside agencies (e.g., Better Business Bureau, regulatory bodies, or legal channels).
By attending any Greater Houston LGBTQ+ Chamber of Commerce event, you acknowledge that photos and video may be taken for Chamber and Chamber Foundation use, including marketing, social media, educational materials, and future promotional content.
Your participation serves as your permission for the Chamber, the Chamber Foundation, and their authorized representatives to capture and use your image, likeness, or voice in any media, in perpetuity, without further approval or compensation.
If you prefer not to have your photo used, please notify the Chamber at 832-510-3002 or speak with an onsite event organizer prior to the start of the event. We will make reasonable efforts to accommodate your request.

The Greater Houston LGBTQ+ Chamber of Commerce (“the Chamber,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) respects the privacy of our members, partners, and visitors to our website.
Subject to applicable law, any personal information you choose to share with us will be used in accordance with this Privacy Policy and will not be used in ways to which you have not consented.
We review website activity and analytics to understand traffic patterns and improve our content and user experience. These website logs are not used to personally identify individual visitors.

These Terms and your use of the Site are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles.
You agree that any dispute arising out of or relating to the Site or these Terms shall be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Harris County, Texas, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of such courts and waive any objection based on inconvenient forum.
If you access the Site from outside the United States, you are responsible for compliance with local laws.
